Midjourney Beginner’s Guide: From Account Setup to Your First Image

Midjourney is one of the leading tools with artistic quality in visual production from text. However, unlike other tools, a website instead of Discord work can be the first obstacle for new users.

#### Account installation
To use Midjourney, you need a subscriber from the official website of Midjourney. Now the web interface is also available, which makes things easier.

#### Your first command
Use /imagine script to produce visuals and then write your description (prompt). For example: "a cozy cabin in a snowy forest, warm lights, cinematic". English prompts usually give more consistent results.

#### Play with parameters
--ar 16:9 changes the ratio of addition to an insert, --stylize increases the value of artistic interpretation, --chaos increases the variety of value. You can find your own style by experimenting these parameters.

#### Variation and magnification
When you like one of the 4 images produced, you can grow with the U (upscale) button, you may want different versions of the visual with the V (variation) button.

If you plan to use the images you produce in a commercial project (product packaging, advertising, sold content), check the rights of commercial use of the plan you subscribe; commercial use of visuals produced with free trial version is generally restricted.

#### Integrate with visual editing tools
A visual that you produce in Midjourney is to spend the latest retouchers on tools such as Photoshop, Canva or Photopea — color correction, crop, text addition — often gives faster and consistent results than searching "perfect prompt at once".

#### Inspired by the Community gallery
The community gallery on the Midjourney web interface shows other users’ prompts and images they produce together. It’s a way of learning much faster than trying out from scratch and adapting to your own project.

#### Organize your query history
It can be difficult to find your old commands in Discord; storing the prompts you like in a separate note (or on a tool like ZncLabs Prompt Library) prevents you from trying from scratch when you need a similar visual again.
